Put Simply:The Medium provides personal proof of the communication with spirit.
I find that many Mediums tend to say “I have an older lady with you on a grandmother link” then go in to what seems to be a psychic message; no evidence and no real message of love. The evidence (proof) can be obtained by many means, the most common is the Medium relaying something significant that only the person past and the recipient knows i.e. details of a private conversation or details of what they used to get up to as children together; not to mention a pretty good description, whether it be visual or otherwise. The main point being, the recipient being told something ‘spot on’ that could not have come from anywhere else but the communicating spirit.
I believe that all Mediums should strive to provide evidence with every reading. Not only will it impact on the validity of the Medium but more importantly of Spiritualism. The last thing I would want to hear after a reading is someone saying “Yeah it made sense but they could have guessed all of that”! Obviously some people will need to be levitated around the world before a spark of belief starts to flicker but a lot of the new comers to spiritualist churches and centres have a great desire to believe and deserve to know the truth.
The Truth: It may sound like fiction, it may sound like nonsense but Spiritualism is very real and very good!
One message I gave to a man in Church once surprised us both, I had a man in spirit, described the spirit to the man and gave details on how they met and what pranks they used to pull at work together, and that the spirit wanted him to know that he was checking on him. The man in the Church came to me afterwards and told me that he knew exactly who I was talking about except the old friend of his isn’t dead… I froze with the realisation of what had just happened and simply just said to him “could you please do me a favour and see if he’s ok”? Two weeks later I saw the same man again… He confirmed that his old friend had died 3 months before I gave him the message. It is this sort of thing that confirms without a shadow of a doubt that spiritualism and communion with spirit is possible, the reading wasn’t psychic and I could never have known any of those personal details by any other means. The evidence is out there, proof is in the details!
